“To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness
        born of ignorance.” (Bg 10.11)

Lord Krishna as the Paramatma is dwelling in the heart of every living entity. When He sees that a devotee is
interested in regularly hearing about Him and serving Him with love and devotion, He blesses the devotee with
transcendental knowledge and He protects him to continually engage in hearing, chanting and serving. This
mystical reciprocation takes place because of the devotee’s affinity to hear the holy scriptures (Bhagavad-gita
and Srimad Bhagavatam) and chant the Mahamantra Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare /
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada states:

“Man can go on speculating for several millions of years, and if he is not devoted, if he is not a lover of the
Supreme Truth, he will never understand Kṛṣṇa, or the Supreme Truth. Only by devotional service is the Supreme
Truth, Kṛṣṇa, pleased, and by His inconceivable energy He can reveal Himself to the heart of the pure devotee.
The pure devotee always has Kṛṣṇa within his heart; and with the presence of Kṛṣṇa, who is just like the sun, the
darkness of ignorance is at once dissipated. This is the special mercy rendered to the pure devotee by Kṛṣṇa.”
        (Bg 10.11 - purport)

There is a mystical spiritual relationship that develops between the devotee and the Lord that only the devotees
can understand. The devotee who demonstrates an unwavering determination to serve with humility and
honesty can be understood to have reached such a stage of devotional service. In spite of all difficulties and
obstacles, the pure devotee continues service without hesitation, fear or doubts. Lord Krishna describes such a
        devotee.

                                                           śrī-bhagavān uvāca

mayy āveśya mano ye māṁ / nitya-yuktā upāsate
śraddhayā parayopetās / te me yukta-tamā matāḥ

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Those who fix their minds on My personal form and are always
engaged in worshiping Me with great and transcendental faith are considered by Me to be most perfect.” (Bg
        12.2)

Fixing the consciousness on the original form of Lord Krishna as the chariot driver of Arjuna or Shyamasundara
with the three fold bending form holding the flute as the beloved of the Gopis, is the ultimate goal of meditation.
The devotee daily worships the Lord with loving service, unflinching faith and dedication. For the devotee there
are no longer any material activities because his every act is performed for the pleasure of Krishna. His constant
engagement in devotional service frees him from all material influences. This leads to mature and unflinching
        love for the Lord.
