characteriscs, Your form and Your acvies, and one can thus understand 
that You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead. But those who are in the 
modes of passion and ignorance, the demons, the nondevotees, cannot un-
derstand You. They are unable to understand You. However expert such non-
devotees may be in discussing Vedānta and the Upaniṣads and other Vedic 
literatures, it is not possible for them to understand the Personality of God-
head." (Stotra-ratna 12) There are many more foolish speculave theories 
propounded by persons who ignore or are ignorant of the proper understand-
ing of  the Vedic revelaon. 
Even the demigods who are universal administrators in charge of the sun, 
moon, wind, rain, etc., and populate the material universe with living enes 
have difficules understanding Lord Krishna. The chief demigods are Brahma 
and Siva. Brahma is the subordinate creator of the material universe aer 
Lord Krishna and Siva is in charge of its annihilaon. They are somemes 
baffled by the inconceivable potencies and infinite personal expansions of 
Lord Krishna. In the same way, the greatest sages in the universe who are au-
thories of Vedic wisdom are also incapable of understanding the intricacies 
of Lord Krishna’s mysc powers. They may aempt to speculate philosophical-
ly to arrive at knowledge of the Lord. But, they will fail because of the four 
fundamental defects of every living enty: mistakes, are  illusion, imperfect 
senses and a cheang propensity. They may arrive by their intellectual efforts 
to understand the impersonal concept of God by negang all the posive 
manifest temporary qualies of the material world. They say that the absolute 
truth cannot be this or that and thus negate everything that is not the  truth in 
their esmaon because of its temporary nature. Thus, they end up with     
either nothingness as the ulmate truth like the Buddhists or an impersonal , 
eternal and homogeneous energy called the Brahman like the followers of 
Sankaracarya. They may also imagine something or someone ordinary to be 
the absolute. All of these conclusions are the product of mental speculaon 
that remains always imperfect.  
How to understand the inconceivable Godhead  

To understand Lord Krishna one must give up mental speculaon and adopt 
the path of pure service and devoon for the Lord rendered without any ma-
terial move. The only desire should be to please Lord Krishna. This is de-
