Vaisnavas. At the age of twenty four, he was married and eventually 
had one son and three daughters. 
He named his son Narayanan aer his father. Even aer marriage 
Sethu Raman connued to associate with male friends to socially 
drink and smoke. He ignored  repeated requests by Deivanai and his 
children, father and mother, relaves and friends to abandon his 
bad habits. He became a chain smoker and alcoholic. Due to his bad 
habits, he would quit his job. This caused much distress to his  wife 
and children. Whatever money he had, he spent on drinking and 
smoking. His wife was forced to sell all her jewelry to maintain the 
family. His son visited different temples and prayed to the various 
deies to give his father the intelligence to transform himself into a 
good person free of all his bad habits. All his prayers seemed to be in
