  Krishna Movement. He received the name Veda Narayana das.  

Veda Narayana das inspires his father and mother  

In 2002, Sethu Raman and his wife visited their son, Veda Narayana, 
in Seale.  Veda Narayana introduced them to the Vedic Cultural Cen‐
ter (VCC) and ISKCON temple. It was an eye‐opening experience for 
Sethu Raman. He saw first‐hand the pracce of devoonal service in  
the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradion. Aer his visit came to an end, his 
son gied him a complete set of audio tapes entled  “Audio Lecture 
Series of Srila Prabhupada – the Founder‐Acharya of Internaonal So‐
ciety for Krishna Consciousness.” Veda Narayana did not try to preach 
to his father. He simply let him experience the animated acvies and 
the inspiring programs and fesvals of the VCC. The spiritual ambi‐
ence and gentle behavior of the devotees impressed Sethu Raman 
with a posive impression.  
Sethu Raman appreciated the gi of his son. At  the me, he did not 
realize the life changing influence he would undergo by regularly lis‐
tening to the spiritually upliing lectures of Srila Prabhupada. 
On the return to India of Veda Narayana’s parents, Sethu Raman’s 
father, T.A.Narayana Iyer’s health gradually deteriorated. He was 
eighty four years old. For the last two weeks of his life, he was bedrid‐
den. Muruga and Lord Shiva were his family deies that he served 
faithfully his enre life. He gave up his last breath with his head on 
the lap of his son Sethu Raman while listening to the Hare  Krishna 
Mahamantra.  
A few months later, Veda Narayana talked to his mother by phone. 
She told him that his father was preoccupied with channg the Hare 
Krishna Mantra every day for many hours. She also conveyed to her 
son that his father completely stopped associang with his friends 
and quit smoking and drinking. This was a miraculous transformaon. 
Veda Narayana aributed his father’s transformaon to the following
