Philosophy for everyone The old Indian Vedic scriptures state that spiritual life begins when one inquires into the nature of the Supreme Godhead. Krishna Consciousness is monotheistic and know the Supreme personality of Godhead as Krishna, the All-attractive. But it is also recognized that the Supreme has unlimited names such as Rama, Vishnu, Jehovah, Allah, etc. Chanting the transcendental vibration Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare helps us revive that original loving relationship with the supreme Godhead. This congregational chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra was promoted by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and is accepted by the Vedas as the most effective means of realizing God. The Vedas describe the mantra as a prayer to the Lord, "Please Lord, engage me in Your service". We have seen practically that any person who is chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, in due course of time feels transcendental pleasure and very quickly becomes purified of all material contaminations. And this is a mantra anyone can chant.
